On 4 July 2014, the Royal Navy’s largest and newest aircraft carrier, will be named by Her Majesty in Dock on the back on the Forth.

The ship will be one and a half times larger than Britain’s latest carrier, HMS Ark Royal, and between now and 4 July the integrity of the hull will be tested and the ship painted grey.

According to reports, the 95 sailors that will be working on board the vessel are currently are starting to test the various systems and equipment on board so they can write the operating manual for when the carrier goes to sea for the first time in 2016.
